The mission of PS132 PTA is to work together with and maintain good relations between Parents and Teachers, along with communicating with the School Administration. We enrich the educational experience for all children at P.S. 132 by sponsoring programs, activities, and events that represent many fields of learning and harness the broad cultural heritage of our community and its many different members.
PTA meetings are open to all parents and guardians of PS 132 students. General meetings will be held in conjunction with other major events to facilitate greater membership participation. The Nominating Committee of the PTA accepts nominations for officers of the PTA Executive Board every spring. All PS 132 parents and guardians are encouraged to consider running for these important positions. All members of the PTA are eligible to serve on the Executive Board, except parents who are also employees of PS 132 or parent members of the CDEC.
All officers of the PTA Executive Board serve one-year terms, beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the following year. Term limits for each officer position shall be two consecutive one-year terms. Candidates may be elected to serve a third term provided no other interested candidate is nominated and willing to serve. A full board consists of eight (8) executive officers (see duties below.) In addition, committee heads and School Leadership Team (SLT) members are also needed on an annual basis.
