Reading
Read For 30 minutes and log it in your Reading Log.
Word Work
Words of the week, pulled from out new Read Aloud: Magic Tree House, Dinosaurs. Please pay special attention to words that are capitalized.
Latin, Greek, earth, safety, hunters, mistakes, tail, snout,guts, flesh.
Refer to the Speller’s Choice board and complete one of the assignments in your homework notebook.

Friendly Reminders
The children are still in need of practicing their addition and subtraction facts. During homework each evening, please spend about 10 minutes going over this. It is essential that during Math, they have perfected this skill. This unit is division and multiplication. Math facts need to be practiced each evening.

Write long and strong for 5 minutes about a nonfiction topic using two of your Words of the Week.

Pick a nonfiction book to read for tonight reading session with illustrations. Analyze 1 illustration. Stop and jot some notes. If the illustration has a caption, pull out important words from the caption. Then answer the following prompt:
Why do you think the author chose to use this illustration and caption to tell you more about the topic?
