Week of May 9th
Weekly Homework- Due Friday, May 13th
Reading: Read for 15 minutes and record on log.
Writing: Answer this question in your homework notebook once: What is the author’s purpose for writing your chosen book? Is that author entertaining you, informing you, persuading you? How do you know? Is your book fiction or non-fiction? Math: Review Exemplar
Spelling: Choose ONE (or more)
-ABC order
-Choose 5 spelling words and create a sentence for each
-Menu Activity

During the week of May 9th the students will be reading a non-fiction book called, “From Seed to Plant”. This is the introduction to our next literacy unit of, “How-To’s”. The children will be sorting and classifying textual information. They will also be sequencing the steps of “how-to” do something. For writing, the students are going to be focusing on the components of writing a “How-To” writing piece. In math, the students will be focusing on numbers to 1,000. They will be comparing numbers, ordering numbers, and working on number patterns. There will be a test on Friday, May 13th. Spelling: Week #25- Vowel Clusters: /air/ and /oar/
