Weekly Homework- Due Friday, May 6th
Reading: Read for 15 minutes and record on log.
Writing: Answer this question in your homework notebook once: What is the difference between fiction and non-fiction? Is the book you read fiction or non-fiction? How do you know? What is the author’s purpose for writing this book? Math: Exemplar
Spelling: Choose ONE (or more)
-ABC order
-Choose 5 spelling words and create a sentence for each

During the week of May 2nd the students will be introduced to a non-fiction book called, “From Seed to Plant”. This is the introduction to our next literacy unit of, “How-To’s”. The children will be revisiting the differences of fiction verse non-fiction stories, and identifying the author’s purpose. For writing, the students are going to be introduced to the components of writing a “How-To” writing piece. In math, we are moving on to book 2A. The students will be focusing on numbers to 1,000. They will be practicing place-value and comparing numbers. Spelling: Week #24- Vowel Clusters, /eer/ and /ear/
