Week of 3/14/16
Reading- We will continue reading “Dear Mrs. LaRue” by Mark Teague. We will discuss opinions and point of view. We will also read various articles which will give us facts and information to base an opinion on.
Writing- Students will brainstorm topics for their opinion writing piece. We will continue using facts and information from articles we have read in class to write an opinion about a topic. The students will work collaboratively to discuss their topics and debate their opinions.
Math- We will continue our unit of length customary units. Students will learn to measure using rulers. They will also estimate lengths in inches.
Social Studies-In Social Studies, we will continue to learn about New York City over time. We will compare and contrast NYC’s past and present.
Science- We will continue our unit on “Forces and Motion”.
March Madness Week – March 21st- 24th
Monday – Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday – Twin Day/Look Alike Day
Wednesday- Fashion Disaster
Thursday – Sports Day
1. Please be sure to check your child’s H.W. folder every night.
2. Please make sure your child has (3) sharpened pencils with their initials written on them with a Sharpie marker on it.
3. Please don’t forget to call the school and send in an absence note when your child is absent from school.
