Week of January 25, 2016
Reading- We will review and discuss our reading about Helen Keller as part of our Biography unit. We will review her life and important facts and events. The students want to learn about braille and sign language, so another teacher is going to help teach them sign language in the future! We will also be reading our own biography research.
Writing- We will be using our biography research to learn more about our famous person. We will be taking our information from our tree maps and starting our first paragraph of our biography.
Math- The students will continue to learn how to multiply using arrays and facts. We will learn how to divide using multiplication facts.
Social Studies- In Social Studies, we will continue to learn about how New York City changed over time. We will focus on the early years of our city.
Science- We will continue to learn about Force and Motion. We will focus on how things move and what makes them move.
All words have the “igh” sound except #11-15 which are sight words.
