Week of 1/18/16
Reading- We will finish reading the biography of John F. Kennedy by David Adler. We will discuss important events of his life. We will also gather information using various “Thinking Maps”.
Writing- Students should have all of their biography research in so that we can continue gathering important information about the person’s life. We will distinguish between important information and not such important information. We will also gather information using “Thinking Maps”. We will begin to organize the information into paragraphs.
Math- We will continue our unit of multiplication and division. WE will learn multiplication by skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. We will also learn repeated addition.
Social Studies-In Social Studies, we will learn about New York City over time. We will compare and contrast NYC’s past and present.
Science- We will begin out unit on “Forces and Motion”.
