JUST A FEW REMINDERS…
Please remember to check your child’s folder daily and send back all forms that must be completed the next school day.
Homework packets will come home on Monday, and are due back to school on Friday.
Attendance and arriving to school on time is imperative. Attending school regularly is important to ensuring children develop a strong foundation for subsequent learning. Just a reminder that our school day begins at 8:00am, and children are dismissed at 2:10pm.
Please remember we have snack every day in the afternoon. Please provide a healthy snack for your child in a labeled bag.
December’s Scholastic Book order is due on Monday, December 7th, 2015. If you would like to place your order online, our class code is . Online orders can be placed at any time, but will be submitted by me on the due date.
Food Allergies: If your child has a food allergy, please send in a current picture and write the kind of allergy on the back. For your child’s safety, it is of the utmost importance that this information is kept up-to-date in the cafeteria. Thank you!
Please sign and return your child’s report card as soon as possible.
Please sign and return the permission slip for our first walking trip. Our trip to Cooper Park is Monday, November 30th, 2015. All chaperones are welcome!

Reading: Creepy Crawly Creatures by C.J. Naden (Nonfiction Text); Students will use nonfiction text features to find information.
Sight Words: Review all sight words (I, can, went, on, a, the, see, is)
Oral Vocabulary Words: slithers, scurries, creeps, antennae
Phonics/Phonemic Awareness: Review all letters & sounds learned thus far (Mm, Aa, Tt, Ss, Ii, Ff, Dd, Rr); ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Plkey. The children will continue to work on Rhyme Recognition & Production, Syllable Segmenting & Counting, and Phoneme Isolation for initial and final sounds.
Writing: Non-fiction Writing; Writers use patterns to write information about a topic. Students will be making books just like the ones they read.
Math: Composing and Decomposing to 5; Continue number bonds
Social Studies: School and School Community; Our Leaders
Science: How Does the Sun Change Things? The sun is earth’s source of energy
