Weekly Homework- Due Wednesday November 25, 2015 (Unless directed otherwise)

Reading: Read for 15 minutes and record on log.

Writing: Answer these questions in your homework notebook:

1. We have been practicing the skill of, “questioning”. Great readers ask questions while they read. Choose a book, while reading your book create 2 questions that you may have while

2. Write about your Thanksgiving! Who did you celebrate with? Where did you celebrate? What did you do? How did the holiday make you feel? (Due Monday, November 30th)

Math: Exemplar (Due Monday, November 30th)

-Please sign and return Math Test Chapter 13

Spelling: NO Spelling this week, due to the 3 day week.

During the week of November 23rd the students will practice “Reciprocal Reading”, which are reading strategies to help become stronger readers. During reciprocal reading students are learning to predict, question, clarify, and summarize.

We have been introduced to the skill of predicting, and will continue implementing each of these strategies as time goes on.

For writing, children are finishing up their first draft on 3 topics and fascinating facts about their animal study. In math, we are beginning to practice and implement mental math strategies with the use of number bonds and fact families.

This week the children will be practicing mental math using addition.
