WEEKLY HOMEWORK:

MONDAY:

Reading: Read for 10 minutes and record it on your reading log. Completed log is due on Wednesday.
Writing: Weekly Journal entry due on Wednesday. Complete the following writing prompt in your Homework Notebook: On Thanksgiving Day, my family and I ___. Write at least 4-6 sentences.

TUESDAY:

Reading: Read for 10 minutes and record it on your reading log. Writing: Weekly Journal entry due on Friday.
Math: Complete the math problems.

WEDNESDAY:

Reading: Read for 10 minutes and record it on your reading log. Complete the Reading Response sheet. Writing: Weekly Journal entry due on Friday.
Math: Complete the math problems.

THURSDAY:

No School.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Have a safe and wonderful holiday!

Reading: We are enjoying the nonfiction unit on animals. We will continue to learn about text features, interesting facts about animals, and how to work and learn from members in our reading groups.

Writing: For our nonfiction writing unit, we are continuing to write an All About Book about a favorite animal of our choice. We are working hard on our drafts about our animals. We enjoy working collaboratively with members in our writing groups.

Math: We have begun the unit on numbers to 20. We will count, compare, and order numbers to 20. We are going to count on from 10 to 20, as well as read and write 11 to 20 in numbers and words. We will also use a place- value chart to show numbers up to 20.

Our annual Toy Drive has begun. Please bring in a new, unwrapped toy. Thank you.

Our annual Penny Harvest is now taking place. Please have your child bring in pennies. Thank you.

Please have your child’s trip slip signed WITH the $6 in an envelope with your child’s name. Chaperones will be notified by November 30th.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

No school on Thursday & Friday, November 26th & 27th. Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Class trip to LaGuardia Community College to see Moosletoe is on Monday, December 7th. Trip slips and $6 are due by Monday, November 30th.
